MoAnA LUU Introduces a New Music Series with DJ Piste Noire.
The Sound of MoAnA LUU is a new series of musical collaborations exploring the richness of Caribbean culture through sound. For Chapter 01, founder and creative director MoAnA Luu reunites with longtime friend, Martinican DJ, producer, and artistic director Piste Noire, for an eclectic journey across musical genres, generations, and cultural influences.

Music, the Rhythm of Our Culture
In Martinique, music is woven into everyday life. From morning coffee to family gatherings and late-night dancing, it brings people together, connecting generations through shared melodies, rhythms, and memories. This is the spirit behind The Sound of MoAnA LUU.
“Growing up in Martinique, and still today when I go home, what stays with me is how music moves through everyday life. From morning coffee to late-night dancing, it's how we gather, how we love, how we remember. This playlist follows that arc. From the beautiful violins of Malavoi to the rhythms of zouk, reggae, dancehall, and the many influences that make Caribbean music so rich, it's the soundtrack of family across generations. Jewelry is one way I honor that heritage. Music is another, and with our footprint in New York, I want people beyond the Caribbean Sea to feel its beauty. This collaboration is not about trends, it's about what we truly listen to and live with.”

A Shared Heritage, A Creative Connection
Having known each other for more than 25 years, MoAnA Luu and Piste Noire share the same Martinican roots and a deep appreciation for the cultural influences that shaped their generation. Following their previous collaboration for the MoAnA LUU × Google Shop dinner in the Hamptons, they come together once again to celebrate the musical heritage of the French Caribbean.
Curated by Piste Noire, the playlist draws inspiration from the unfolding of a traditional evening in Martinique. From the distinctive violins of Malavoi to the iconic rhythms of Kassav', the selection moves naturally through zouk, reggae, dancehall, and contemporary Caribbean sounds. Rather than following trends, it celebrates the music that continues to accompany everyday life in Martinique and Guadeloupe, bringing together beloved classics and contemporary voices.
“I imagined this playlist as a musical journey through the different hours of a Caribbean night. Growing up in Martinique, I remember how DJs would tell an entire story through music. Every genre had its place, its moment, its own energy. There was a rhythm to the night that brought people closer, sparked romances, and united dancers. We moved between musical worlds with incredible fluidity, blending genres and influences. That spirit of connection and musical freedom is what I wanted to recreate with this playlist.”

Among the selections, subtle references to Doudou create a connection with MoAnA LUU's signature jewelry collection, inspired by the woven structures of traditional fish traps from the French West Indies.

Creole Culture, Beyond Borders
Just as MoAnA LUU reinterprets Caribbean heritage through contemporary fine jewelry, The Sound of MoAnA LUU offers another expression of the house's cultural vision. An invitation to discover the extraordinary richness of Creole culture, experience its musical diversity, and share the sounds that continue to connect generations. Conceived as an evolving series, The Sound of MoAnA LUU opens a new creative dialogue between music, heritage, and contemporary expression.
