MoAnA LUU is an award-winning designer, Martinican entrepreneur, global creative leader, brand architect, media expert, and philanthropist based in New York. She is the founder and creative director of the House of MoAnA LUU, an American design house that reimagines contemporary Creole luxury.

Born in Martinique, MoAnA was shaped by a rich cultural heritage, influenced by both her creative parents and the artisanal traditions of her homeland. This deep connection to culture and craftsmanship laid the foundation for her design philosophy, which fuses heritage with modernity.

A creative powerhouse, her visionary approach was honored at the Fashion Trust U.S. Awards 2024, where she won the prestigious Best Jewelry Designer Award. Before founding her design house, MoAnA built a distinguished career in media and fashion, serving as Chief Content & Creative Officer at ESSENCE and leading Trace Media Group. She has launched television channels, digital platforms, and magazines reaching millions worldwide, shaping narratives at the intersection of culture, fashion, and design.

Trusted to lead the way, she directed ESSENCE magazine through its landmark 50th anniversary, architecting the publication’s most successful and inclusive covers, garnering over 5 billion media impressions. She pioneered the inclusion of the first openly gay male star, Billy Porter, and the first hijabi model, Halima Aden, on the cover of the legacy publication. Her expertise has allowed her to work with iconic talents such as Michelle Obama, Naomi Campbell, Alicia Keys, Serena Williams, and Kerry Washington.

MoAnA LUU’s jewelry collections first captured global attention when Cardi B made headlines wearing a striking stack of her bracelets in her viral pregnancy portraits. Since then, the brand’s signature geometric and woven designshave adorned cultural icons like Gwyneth Paltrow, Mary J. Blige, Issa Rae, Gary Dourdan, and Wyclef Jean. Her collections have been carried by major luxury retailers, including Goop and Nordstrom, expanding her vision for Creole luxury into the global fine jewelry market.

She has also collaborated with Shop with Google, merging luxury design with digital innovation to redefine how consumers experience fine jewelry online.

Her work has also been exhibited at the Museum of Arts and Design (MAD) in New York, further cementing her status as a visionary in contemporary jewelry design.
